Dr. Robert Bohannon
Dr. Bohannon is an inventor and entrepreneur. His inventions range from: a fuel cell for electric cars (patent issued); to a vaccine against cocaine undergoing FDA clinical trials (patent issued and pending); to an FDA approved rapid HIV test using saliva (OraQuick by OraSure Technologies, patents issued and pending) and which Popular Science named invention of the year in 2004; to rapid drug tests (Sure Screen by MedTox, patents pending); to rapid tests for anthrax and biowarfare agents (DoD, patents issued); to nanometer colloidal catalysts; and now to microencapsulated caffeine (patent pending).
Dr. Bohannon has developed over 50 diagnostic tests to help curtail infectious diseases around the world, which have been heralded as some of the most innovative, useful tests made. The R&D lab is currently working on tests for avian bird flu and HPV to help stop these endemics. Other unique inventions (hush-hush stuff) underway include new computer peripherals, DVD technologies, and some personal organizers.
